This territorial-style home was clearly a flashback in time, having only a few back-facing windows and a single access point to the backyard, which was through a door in the mechanical room. Fortunately, the new owners had the vision to transform the past into the present. As a result, this smashing renovation restored the best of the previous era; incorporating newer, more contemporary custom accents in the kitchen and baths, along with big, brightening windows and French doors, giving it a lighter and airier feel.
Two large, gracious portals open up to the great outdoor space that was once a part of the original Santa Fe Trail. Built on the historic sight in the 1930’s, this detail-oriented renovation included expanding the kitchen and dining room and transforming a dark master bedroom into a luxurious suite, with a seamless flow between old and new. Dressed in bright colorful tones and patterns, the interior is fun and playful, with folk art a central theme in tying it all together.
