Embrace Historic Eastside

Located on the historic Eastside, this authentic adobe ‘diamond in the rough’, originally built in 1930, was completely restored, earning it the “2016 Excellence in Remodeling | Whole House Remodel of the Year” by the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association.

Enter the home through a gracious foyer that unfolds into a Double Parlor, between Living and Drawing Rooms, with direct access to the Dining Room and Kitchen, offering a wonderful circular flow, perfect for entertaining; special features include Vigas, Beams, Skylights, Original Restored Hardwood Floors, Diamond Finished Hard Troweled Plaster and Solid Core Doors. New insulated Divided Lite windows and French Doors contribute to its character and charm, while offering a seamless indoor/outdoor experience. In total, 2,700 heated sq. feet of casual, yet chic, living space, with 2 Bedrooms/2 Baths in the primary quarters, along with 1 Bedroom/1Bath in separate guest Casita, all surrounded by history, and bathed in lovingly lush restored grounds, enclosed within adobe walls for ultimate privacy and serenity.

Interiorly, the entire home’s energy efficiency system was replaced, including both the electrical and plumbing systems, in addition to refurbishing the antiquated cast-iron radiator system. Exteriorly, the roof was completely restored, along with the exterior uninsulated adobe walls, coated with 2” of spray foam for maximum insulation and energy savings, followed by re-stuccoing for long-term sustainability. The entire primary and adjoining casita structures underwent a complete make-over, with elevated, and in certain areas, modernized detailing, while maintaining its traditional historical value, transforming the comfort and livability of the home.

The kitchen benefitted the most from the remodel, bringing it into the 21 st century, redesigned as a functional Chef’s Kitchen, with well-appointed, state-of-the-art fixtures and appliances. Raising the roof, an additional feature, opened up the space, delivering a more contemporary feel, encased with custom lighting, solid wood cabinetry, chevron patterned tile floor and an authentic Kiva fireplace, delivering the old-world charm for cozy gatherings. All of the thoughtful design and retrofitting/technical work provide for a dramatic experience, delivering a charismatic space, filled with warmth, light and comfort. Custom ouches abound!
